With Xiaomi becoming a member of Wireless Power Consortium, it's highly anticipated that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 7 will feature wireless charging, at last. And a new leak has now confirmed the wireless charging feature on the Xiaomi Mi 7, which is expected to launch sometime in April 2018. An image leak from China reveals that Xiaomi will be using wireless charging module from IDC, but the module details are scarce at the moment.

Xiaomi is one of the major smartphone manufacturers in the globe. Xiaomi's 2017 flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 6 was an excellent value for money option. In China, it was available at even a lesser price tag than the OnePlus 5 and 5T. But Xiaomi did not release the smartphone in most of its important markets.

However, it might change with the Xiaomi Mi 7 as the leaked image suggests support for all the US LTE bands in the smartphone. The Mi Mix 2 also arrived with support for 43 Global LTE bands, and it won't be a surprise if the Mi 7 also arrives with the same amount of LTE bands.

Overall, we now have confirmation that the Mi 7 will feature wireless charging and it also confirms glass back for the Mi 7. Wireless charging doesn't work through metal. So, expect the Mi 7 to feature a similar glass back as the Xiaomi Mi 6.

There are a few more details available on the web related to the Xiaomi Mi 7. Like the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, the Mi 7 will also feature an 18:9 display on the front, but there will be noticeable bezels because Xiaomi has a complete bezel-less series of Mi Mix.

The Xiaomi Mi 7 would be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, which was already confirmed by the company last month. The chipset may accompany up to 8GB of RAM as the Mi 6 already has 6GB of RAM inside. Expect Xiaomi to offer the smartphone various storage and RAM configurations.

It is also said that the device may feature a 5.65-inch 18:9 display, which keeps the overall footprint of the smartphone compact. The Xiaomi Mi 7 will take on the likes of Samsung Galaxy S9, Note 9, LG V40, OnePlus 6, and several other flagship smartphones expected to release in 2018.
