Xiaomi is all set to launch the much waited Mi A2 in India on August 8. The phone which will be the successor to the Mi A1 will come with the Android One certification from Google. The device is also going to be one of the few by Xiaomi to sport a pure stock Android experience. The phone has also been launched globally in Spain alongside its other variant, Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, a model which sadly won’t make its way to India. The Nokia 7 Plus is another phone by HMD Global which very highly resembles the specs of the Mi A2. With Xiaomi launching the phone in this week, the Nokia 7 Plus is undoubtedly going to face some competition from the Xiaomi phone. Both the devices are also part of Android One programme and offer pure stock Android experience. Below we have compared both the phones across all areas to see which one stands as a clear winner.

Xiaomi Mi A2 vs Nokia 7 Plus: Design and Display
The Xiaomi Mi A2 comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio screen with minimum bezel which lends it a modern look. The phone also comes with USB Type-C and has no headphone jack which might be a little bit disappointing for some buyers. The thickness of the device is a measly 7.3mm, and there is also the Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. The colour options for Mi A2 include - gold, blue and black.

The Nokia 7 Plus, on the other hand, is made out of a single block of Series 6000 aluminium with six layers ceramic coating making the phone feel like a premium gadget. There are also copper coloured accents on the edged adding to the aesthetics. The Nokia 7 Plus sports a 6-inch Full HD+ IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio as well. For protection, there is Gorilla Glass 3 on top, and the device is a tad bit bulkier than Mi A2 with the thickness measuring to be 7.9mm. One of the key features of the Nokia 7 Plus is its stellar design.

The phones differ a lot in the camera department with the Nokia 7 Plus sporting ZEISS Optics sensors which include -12MP primary sensor with f/1.75 lens and Dual Pixel autofocus, and a 13MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. There’s a 16MP camera on the front for selfies. On the other hand, the Mi A2 comes with a 12MP sensor and a secondary 20MP sensor on the rear with both the cameras having a f/1.75 aperture. In our full review of the Nokia 7 Plus, we rated it as the best battery smartphone, which may not be changed even after the arrival of the Mi A2.

Xiaomi Mi A2 vs Nokia 7 Plus: Pricing
The Nokia 7 Plus retails for the price of Rs 25,999 in India and although the Xiaomi Mi A2’s price hasn’t been announced as of yet, the international pricing of the phone suggests that it might bear a price tag of around Rs 20,000. The phone costs 249 Euros (about Rs 20,071) for the entry-level 4GB RAM and 32GB storage variant and costs 349 Euros (roughly Rs 28,131) for the top-end 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The middle variant with 4GB + 64GB storage retails for 279 Euros (roughly Rs 22,489), and this is going to be the device giving tough competition to the Nokia 7 Plus.
