Xiaomi has been dropping hints about holding a big global event very soon. It is being speculated that the global event might witness the official announcement of the Xiaomi Mi A2 Android One smartphone. Last year, the Chinese smartphone maker had launched the Mi A1 Android One smartphone at a global event in India, which was originally launched in China with the name of Xiaomi Mi 5X. The device offered pure stock Android, unlike other Xiaomi phones which are considered to be bloated due to Xiaomi’s stock MIUI. This year the company again made another instalment to the X series in China, with the new Xiaomi Mi 6X, another MIUI phone. Following the convention like last year, the company is now expected to launch the Mi A2 in India and other countries very soon.
On its official Twitter account, the company has teased a global event, and it has asked from the fans about a prospective venue for the same. It is noteworthy that last year the event was held in India, which means that this year Xiaomi might choose a different location for its occasion of international importance.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 has been a victim of lot leaks and speculations. It was recently spotted on a Swiss site, and it also made its entry on TENAA. Like we mentioned above, the device is going to very closely resemble its Chinese counterpart – the Xiaomi Mi 6X. As for the pricing, the Mi A2 32GB storage variant has been noted to come with a price tag of CHF 289 (approx. Rs 19,733), while the other 64GB model bears a price tag of CHF 329 (approx. Rs 22,465), lastly, the top end 128GB internal storage variant comes in at CHF 369 (approx. Rs 25,200).
Xiaomi Mi A2 Rumoured Specifications and Features
The highlight of this new phone by Xiaomi is going to be the stock Android operating system which will offer a pure Vanilla Android experience. The screen is going to be a 5.99-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) display which will be the same as Mi 6X. Under the hood, the phone will be driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, accompanied by 4GB of RAM. The company will offer three storage variants for this handset - 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB.
As for imaging, the Xiaomi Mi A2 will sport a vertically oriented dual rear camera. The primary sensor on this phone is going to be a 20MP unit. For selfies, the company will equip the phone with a 20MP shooter on the front side. The battery will be a 3010mAh one which will come with Quick Charge 3.0 capability. Connectivity options on the phone will include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, and USB Type-C.
