The Xiaomi Mi 6X has been a phone which has been surrounded by mystery for quite some time. Later last week, a leaked image surfaced on the internet informing the users about the entire specifications of the Mi 6X, specifically the processor. This new update is about the listing of the same phone on the official Android website. The Mi 6X which is going to launch in China on April 25 is officially listed right beside the Mi 5X on the Android website now. People visiting the site can also do a small comparison between the specifications between the two phones. However, it is noteworthy that China has banned the services of Google and there in the Chinese mainland the phone is expected to ship with MIUI. Whereas, in places like India the Mi 6X will debut as the Mi A2 and is also being regarded as the second Xiaomi phone in India to be part of Android One program. This is going to mean that the Xiaomi Mi 6X or the Mi A2 will run on pure stock Android in India.

There hasn’t been any official word from any Xiaomi spokesperson right now, but Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun told reporters recently that the company is planning to bring more Android One smartphones to the market. "Yes, there's a plan to bring more Android One devices to India because there are still quite a few users in India who prefer Android One," Lei Jun confirmed.

For the fans of Xiaomi, this seems to be delightful news as previously told in the leak about the processor, the Mi 6X which is presently set to release in China where it is being deemed as an impressive piece of technology. The phone is also going to encompass AI based functionalities which will add to the existing features. As seen on the Google Android listing, the Mi 6X which will debut as Mi A2 in India will come in two variants: 32GB RAM and 64GB RAM. There are also speculations that just for the Indian buyers the Mi 6X 32GB can be coupled with 4GB RAM and the 64GB variant might use 6GB RAM. Xiaomi is also expected to launch a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model as well.

Speaking about the camera on the Mi 6X, the phone also doesn’t disappoint on the imaging department as it comes with a dual rear camera setup. The main camera will use a 20MP sensor while the other camera, which will be zoom enabled, will use an 8MP sensor. On the front for the selfies, the Mi 6X will come with a 20MP sensor as well. The handset will also be powered from the inside with 2910mAh battery.

From the perspective of the Indian market, the predecessor of the soon to be launched Mi 6X or like Indians would call it - the Mi A2 happens to be Xiaomi Mi A1. The phone which was launched last year has gone out of stock in India. Despite Xiaomi’s claims that the stock of the Mi A1 is going to filled up again, we are of the thought that the launch of the Mi A2 is nearer than we expect it to be.

Even though the Xiaomi Mi A2 is going to bring impressive specifications at a reasonable price point, this year has seen a lot of new entries to the mid-range smartphone market. This means a new-found competition for the Mi A2. The recent debuts which will present a solid front to the Mi A2 in India will include the likes of Nokia 6 (2018) which has decent hardware and combines it with the presence of Android One, it is a very worthy competitor to the Mi A1 given that the phone is unavailable right now. There is also the newcomer - ZenFone Max Pro M1 that can be a solid contender to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro since it offers impeccable performance and does it at the price of Rs 10,999. The phone being talked about here, the Mi A2 is expected to hold a price tag of under Rs 20,000.
