Xiaomi, the Chinese manufacturer which has been making waves ever since it hit the launchpad. As per the latest reports, the Chinese manufacturer is planning to start up its own e-commerce website for the country . The website will be launched in the first half of 2015. “We are working step by step in building our own e-commerce platform in india. Setting up own e-commerce platform is a complex task…it requires custom clearance, warehousing, payment integration, last-mile connectivity. We are talking to a number of partners… we don’t have specific launch date yet but it will happen sometime in first half of the next year,” this is what Hugo Barra, vice president of Xiaomi Global had to say recently.

The website will be functional alongside Flipkart. The Indian Government does not allow foreign entities to sell on their own so the Chinese manufacturer is working on finding a way to do so. The company is in talks with taxation firms to arrive at a suitable way of doing business. The company also wants to start manufacturing devices in India one day.

Xiaomi just launched the Redmi Note in India in 3G and 4G guises. It also plans on bringing the Mi Pad, Mi Band and 16,000 mAh power bank soon to India. The Mi4 will reach India in early 2015. The company  just became the fourth largest manufacturer globally and wants to be the number 1 in 5 years.
