When it comes to fast charging technologies, BBK Electronics-owned Oppo, OnePlus and Vivo are leading the charge, beating the likes of Samsung, Xiaomi and Apple hands-on. At the Xiaomi Developer Conference in China, Xiaomi announced its super-fast charging technology that is capable of charging a 4000mAh cell in just 17 minutes. The 100W Super Charge Turbo charging technology from Xiaomi will take on Vivo’s 120W Super Flash Fast charging solution which the Chinese company introduced earlier this year. Xiaomi just announced the new fast-charging solution, but we may see the phones using said technology in early 2020 or mid-2020.

Xiaomi 120W Super Charge Turbo Technology Introduced
At the time when Xiaomi is focusing on launching camera-centric phones, BBK Electronics-owned companies- Vivo, Oppo, Realme and OnePlus are coming up with fast charging solutions. For example, Vivo introduced the 120W Super Flash Fast charging earlier this year, and very recently, we saw Oppo using 65W Super VOOC technology on the Oppo Reno Ace smartphone. Vivo is yet to use the 120W fast charging technology on any of its smartphones, but we say the first phone in the first half of 2020.
Xiaomi’s 100W fast charging solution is still the wired solution and it will take 17 minutes to charge a 4000mAh cell fully. That said, we may not be able to use the technology on any of the Xiaomi smartphones available right now as it requires additional hardware to be used.
Vivo stated that its 120W charging technology charges 4000mAh battery in 13 minutes, whereas Xiaomi’s tech is said to charge the same capacity in 17 minutes. So Vivo still has a sizeable lead. Oppo’s 65W Super VOOC charging tech charges a 4000mAh cell in less than 25 minutes, whereas Realme’s 50W Super VOOC charging tech charges the same battery cell in 33 minutes.
