WhatsApp update for Windows Phone brings PDF document sharing and video trimming, not eligible for Windows Phone 7.8 users

WhatsApp is not very frequent when it comes to rolling out updates for Windows Phones, but this time, the Facebook-owned instant messenger has come up with a substantial upgrade for the Windows Phone client. The new update for WhatsApp on Windows Phone brings a variety of new features that are already present on Android app.

Windows Phone Whatsapp update

The WhatsApp build on Windows Phone has been tweaked to version 2.12.344. The update also brings video trimming feature onboard, which enables users to trim the video as per their desired length before sending it to friends. This feature is in line with the one that compresses video file size for easy sharing. These features have made video sharing much more easy on WhatsApp.

Moreover, the update also enables document sharing feature, which was recently launched for its Android app and iOS app. The feature is limited to PDF format, however, Whatsapp is working on including support for more formats. We might get support for more document formats in the forthcoming updates.

It is noteworthy to state that the update is not available for Windows Phone 7.8 users. Also, WhatsApp announced last year that it going to withdraw support for Symbian, Windows 7.8, and BlackBerry OS by the end of 2016. It means that users on the aforementioned Operating Systems will either have to go for any alternative instant messaging service or upgrade their device to use WhatsApp.

But Windows phones are much better than any crapdroid phones. My “old” Lumia 720 have no problem to run any Windows phone app. It is still smooth on 512Mb RAM. Crpadroid users are asking for Powerfull processor and RAM. But we Windows phone users are happy with 512Mb RAM. Yes, I know, thre is a shortage for crappy apps like ‘RAM Cleaner, Cleaner, RAM booster, CPUz Booster’ etc… Read more »
