Vodafone Idea Announces Initiatives to Support Wayanad Residents
Vodafone Idea (Vi), in a gesture of solidarity with the residents of Wayanad, Kerala, who are reeling from the effects of a recent natural disaster, has announced a series of measures to assist the affected community. Airtel and Reliance Jio have also announced respective measures to support the residents.

Prepaid Customers Benefit from Free Data

To ensure that prepaid customers remain connected during this challenging time, Vi is offering 1GB of mobile data free per day for seven days. This extra data will be auto-credited to users' accounts, enabling them to stay in touch with loved ones and access information easily without interruption.

Postpaid Customers Receive Payment Extensions

For its postpaid customers, Vodafone Idea has extended the due dates for bill payments by 10 days. This extension aims to provide some relief to those who are managing the immediate aftermath of the disaster.

Vi Stores Become Relief Material Collection Points

In a bid to aid the ongoing relief efforts, Vi is transforming all its stores across Kerala into collection points for relief materials. The public can walk into to donate essential items at any Vi Store to support the relief operations in Wayanad, Vi said in a statement on Thursday.

Network Operations Enhanced

R S Shantaram, Cluster Business Head, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Vi, said "As the people of Wayanad are rebuilding their lives, Vi has ensured that all its 263 sites in the district are fully operational, including 17 sites in the critically impacted areas. We have also enhanced capacities of these sites to ensure they function at optimum capacity."
