Ahead of fierce competition, second largest telecom operator Vodafone has now included speedtest and network tracking feature in its self-care app 'My Vodafone' to improve customer experience and network quality.
The British telecom giant’s Indian unit which is all set to cross 20 crore subscriber mark soon is facing stiff competition from Bharti Airtel and Jio. Vodafone's main advantage of having superior 2G network wouldn't help them in near future as prices of 4G devices are falling and Jio has announced to offer free calls on their 4G network. While on the data front, Vodafone lags far behind third largest operator Idea Cellular also merged entity of Aircel - RCom would have better data footprint.
So, in this moment Vodafone is greatly focusing on improving network and offering better customer service to keep binding high paying customers. To do so, the company added the speedtest feature which would help customers to know how much speed they are getting on Vodafone network without any additional data cost while the company would track that data to improve network.
Also, we have got to know from a trusted source that Vodafone is also working on a live network tracking system similar to Airtel's 'Open Network'. Earlier we've exclusively reported even Jio developed a similar tracking feature for customers with verified mark to show real time network information. Though, if Vodafone came up with own network tracker and improves network through the speedtest data, both customers and company would be in a win-win situation.
Dear readers, do you think Vodafone customers can expect better network quality in coming days, share your thoughts through comments.
