Vivo has officially introduced the Y95 smartphone in the Philippines today and the phone is expected to go official in India very soon as well. The Vivo Y95 will be the first phone in India to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset. While Vivo is yet to provide an official confirmation regarding the Indian launch of Y95, we have already seen the device at a bunch of retail stores in Hyderabad, so expect the smartphone to go official in less than a week. That said, the Vivo Y95 is the rebranded version of Vivo Y93 which was recently launched in China. The Vivo Y95 features the much trendier teardrop notch and it also boasts a 20MP selfie camera. The Vivo Y95 is the successor to Vivo Y85 and it brings upgrades to the table in every aspect.

Vivo Y95: Specifications and Features

The Vivo Y95 flaunts a 6.2-inch HD+ display on the front which has a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. As mentioned above, the Y95 has a teardrop notch on the front, and more importantly, it could be the cheapest smartphone with the modern looking notch. Under the hood, the smartphone has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset, which replaces the Snapdragon 435 SoC and sits in between the Snapdragon 450 SoC and Snapdragon 435 chipset. The phone comes in a single variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB using the dedicated microSD card slot.

The phone is backed by a beefy 4030mAh battery and there's no support for fast charging, unfortunately. As for the cameras, Vivo has added two cameras on the rear side- 13MP and 2MP. On the front, we get a 20MP selfie shooter and the camera app comes bundled with a slew of Artificial Intelligence-based features.

This dual-SIM smartphone comes laden with Android 8.1 Oreo-based FunTouch OS 4.5 along with the company's Jovi AI virtual assistant. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and a Micro USB port. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the back panel and the phone retains 3.5mm headphone jack.

Vivo Y95: Expected Price in India

As mentioned above, the Vivo Y95 has already reached retail stores across the country, so it will be a matter of time for the brand to make it official in India. In the Philippines, the Vivo Y95 has been introduced at PHP 13,999 which translates to Rs 19,000. In India, the price of the Vivo Y85 will be under Rs 15,000, considering the brand never launched a 'Y' series smartphone above Rs 15,000. If it gets launched under Rs 15,000, it will be one of the go-to recommendations in the offline market since all the smartphones in the said price range are packed by the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset.
