Mysterious Vivo Smartphone With Close to 95% Screen-to-Body Ratio Spotted Online, Could Be the Vivo Xplay 7

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is working on a new smartphone with an extremely high screen to body ratio, according to a new Weibo leak. The alleged Vivo device has nothing but screen on the front, with extremely thin bezels all around. The bottom bezel is the thickest, but it is still barely any thicker than side or top bezels. This indicates the Vivo device could deliver a screen-to-body ratio as high as 95%.

This display of the Vivo device comes with rounded corners, and the phone is clearly running Vivo’s Funtouch OS on top of Android. Though exact size of the screen is not known, the device will likely sport an 18:9 elongated display.

An interesting thing about this phone is the top bezel doesn’t seem to be housing any sensors, earpiece or the front-facing camera. This begs the question whether this image is just another fake. However, reports indicate that the handset could ship with a flip-up camera, which will be utilised as both the phone primary camera and selfie shooter.

The image also shows there’s no fingerprint sensor up front. There’s a possibility that the fingerprint scanner may be housed on its back or the smartphone may feature an in-display scanner. Vivo is the only company to have released a phone with an in-display fingerprint scanner so that we could see company’s upcoming flagships to sport such a scanner.

There is no other information about the specifications and the name of the mysterious Vivo phone. It could be the upcoming Vivo X30, though the design differs a bit from the earlier leaks of the phone. The Vivo X30 surfaced a couple of times so far, featuring a notch on the front.
