Vivo V5 Goes Official in India with 20-megapixel Front Camera, 4GB RAM for Rs. 17,980

As expected, Vivo finally unveiled its camera-centric phone - Vivo V5, in India. At an event held in Delhi, Vivo made the V5 official at a price of Rs. 17,980. It will be up for pre-ordering from November 16; the standard sale will begin from November 26. The V5 will be available in Crown Gold and Space Gray colour options.

Coming on to the specifications, the V5's primary feature is its 20-megapixel front-facing camera with Sony IMX376 sensor and 5P lens. It is the first smartphone to sport such high-resolution front camera, which is clubbed with 'Moonlight Glow' flash. There is a 13-megapixel rear camera with single-LED flash. The Vivo V5 runs Android 6.0-based Funtouch 2.6 OS.

The Vivo V5 comes with a 5.5-inch HD display (1280 x 720 pixels) with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. An Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750 processor clocked at 1.5GHz powers the device with Mali T860 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It bears 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The device also sports a water-resistant fingerprint sensor, which is embedded into the Home button and unlocks the device in just 0.2 seconds.

A 3000mAh battery backs the smartphone. For connectivity, the Vivo V5 supports Hybrid dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS + GLONASS, and USB OTG. The phone measures 153.8 x 75.5 x 7.55mm and weighs 154 grams. Vivo also touts about the Smart Split 2.0 feature, which allows users to use two apps side-by-side. There is also a Blue-light mode onboard that is for protecting eyes from excess display light.
