Telesoft Technologies, a global provider of media and signal processing products, announced today that it had won another order to supply the OKEFORD Media Platform into a Pan-India GSM network. The OKEFORD Media Platform provides interactive voice media services within a technology partner’s mobile prepaid subscriber charging solution.
India remains a hotspot for mobile communications with a 50% growth in wireless communications in the 12 months to May 2009. The latest numbers by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India showed 11.59 million new wireless subscribers in May making a total of 415.25 million wireless subscribers.
In order to attract and keep these new subscribers, 90% of which use pre-paid tariffs, service providers install reliable and easy to use automated payment and customer care solutions. These include voice prompt, speech recognition and other media capabilities to quickly bring new services to customers, aid interaction and improve the customer experience.
The OKEFORD Media Platform combines both Media Resource Function (MRF) and Intelligent Peripheral capabilities, enabling operators, carriers and application developers to rapidly develop and launch advanced interactive voice applications in IP-Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), SIP, 2G/3G wireless, cable, and wireline networks.
