German telecommunications provider O2 Telefonica is expanding its 5G network in popular German holiday regions. According to Telefonica O2 Germany, this expansion has been meticulously planned to ensure that O2 customers in these sought-after vacation spots can enjoy a faster and more reliable mobile network even during peak visitor periods.

O2 5G Expansion

O2 Telefonica strategically expands its 5G network in popular German vacation destinations. O2 says it is focusing on providing 5G coverage in regions that include seaside resorts and beaches on the North and Baltic Seas as well as the Bavarian lakes and Alps.

Improved Connectivity

The expansion aims to provide faster and more reliable mobile connectivity to O2 customers in these vacation areas. This ensures that digital applications can be used smoothly, even during times of high visitor traffic.

Specific Locations

The 5G network has been rolled out in several vacation regions, including various spots in the Baltic Sea (Ostsee) and North Sea (Nordsee), Bavarian lakes, Lake Constance, Alpine region, Allgau, the Black Forest, the Mosel, and the Eifel.

National 5G Coverage

O2 said its network already covers approximately 90 percent of the German population nationwide with the modern 5G standard. The goal is to provide coverage to the entire population by 2025.

Roaming Abroad

O2 Telefonica said it offers comprehensive roaming agreements for customers who travel abroad.
