Russian mobile operator T2, a subsidiary of the national operator Rostelecom, announced that it has completed the installation of telecom infrastructure for three upcoming stations on the Troitskaya metro line in southern Moscow. The new stations—Kornilovskaya, Kommunarka, and Novomoskovskaya—are equipped with 3G and 4G coverage, with the network already active before their official opening, T2 said.

The telecom build began in October, starting with Kornilovskaya, and expanded southward. By December 23, T2’s equipment was operational, providing stable connections for workers before passenger services begin. A recent drive test confirmed excellent voice and data quality across the network, the Russian operator explained.

Previous Launch
T2 had previously launched telecom services for the first four Troitskaya stations in September 2024. The metro line, set to span 17 stations, is part of an effort to improve southern Moscow’s transportation network.
The Technical Director of the Moscow macro-region at T2 said in December 2024, “The Moscow Metro remains a strategically important project, both for the company and for the technical department in particular. In addition to providing communications at the opening stations, we monitor the quality of communications on all metro lines around the clock and, if problems are detected, we immediately take measures to eliminate them.”
