Russian mobile operator T2 (formerly Tele2 Russia) has equipped four stations on Moscow's soon-to-be-opened Troitskaya metro line with 3G and 4G service. The stations—Novatorskaya, University of Friendship of Peoples, Generala Tyuleneva, and Tyutchevskaya—will offer stable mobile coverage on platforms and throughout the tunnels, T2 said in a recent official release.

Network Installation Completed
T2 began installing communication systems in June and completed the work in August. The network, operating on LTE2100, LTE2600, and UMTS2100 at the stations and LTE800, LTE2100, and UMTS2100 in the tunnels, passed a drive test in early September, confirming stable performance, the company explained.

Continuous Communication a Priority
"Potapovo has opened, and we have provided the first passengers of the station that completes the red line with high-quality voice communication and Internet," T2's Technical Director for the Region said.
"However, the construction of the metro is ongoing, and we expect the opening of the entire Troitskaya line any day now. Continuous communication in Moscow, and in the metro in particular, is our priority, so the Troitskaya line will also be provided with communication."
