Sony India will be launching their flagship phone, the Sony Xperia XZs in India on April 4. The company has sent out media invites for an event, and the invite explicitly mentions the Xperia XZs name. The invite states as 'Dramatize Every Moment.'
To recall, the Sony Xperia XZs was announced back at the MWC 2017 event in Barcelona, Spain last month and it's the successor for last year's Sony Xperia XZ, which was a great phone, sans the pricing. The XZs doesn't feature many changes from the XZ, and the differences are only in the camera segment.
The Sony Xperia XZs comes with the latest 19MP Exmor RS memory stacked sensor for much faster image processing. Sony has gone ahead and embedded the Motion Eye camera technology into the sensor itself. Also, the phone has the capability of recording slow motion videos at an insane 960fps. The phone has a 13MP front-facing camera for video and selfies.
The design of the smartphone is unchanged, and the phone comes with a dedicated camera shutter button. Rest of the specs of XZs are same as the Xperia XZ such as 5.2-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, and 2900mAh battery. However, the RAM on this phone has been bumped to 4GB from the previous 3GB seen on Xperia XZ. The Xperia XZs also boots Android Nougat out-of-the-box.
The phone was launched in two storage options- 32GB with single SIM slot and 64GB with dual SIM slot. It's highly possible that the dual SIM variant will make it to India.
Currently, there are no words on the pricing of the phone, but Sony will price it above Rs. 50,000. Moreover, the Xperia XZ received a price cut in India recently and is now retailing for Rs. 39,990. So, expect a steep price for Xperia XZs.
