Apart from basic mobile telephony at an attractive rate (all local and STD @ 50p after first 3min), Virgin Mobile offers a host of value added services (VAS) dubbed as Vbytes (VAS portal). Think Hatke !

Vbytes SMS Services
To use it, customers have to send sms ‘keyword’ to 58686. Ringtone, Cricket, Love,Dating, Astro, News,Travel and other services can be accesible via this service. Cost just Rs. 3 per SMS.

Tring Tunes
The dedicated voice portal for Virgin Mobile’s Call back tone Service [Tring Tunes] is 58475 where a user can call and select a music to set a Tring Tune from a library of thousands of tracks in various languages and genres. Tring Tunes subscription charges are Rs. 30/month and Rs. 15 per song selection for a period of 90 days.

vRadio
The on-the-go music portal. Virgin users can listen to full songs (Bollywood, Regional & International ) of their choices and can set a song as their Tring Tune. you can dial 58575 at Re1/min to subscribe for Rs 10 for 10 days. Cost of Tring Tune mentioned before.

Vbytes Voice
Voice portal of Virgin mobile. People can dial 58686 and browse Music (Ringtones & Tring Tunes), Jokes, Cricket scores, Movie spoofs & dialogues, Voice games, Astrology, Fun quiz, Contests etc. One can select a song and set the Tring Tune by visiting this portal. The portal is charged at Rs. 6 per minute.

Live Services
‘Live Astro’ service available on 5847475 allows the user to have a live voice chat with an qualified astro guru. Fone-A-Friend at 5847474 offers the subscriber to talk to a person to discuss on any topic of interest anytime, anywhere. Charge – Rs 9/min

Vbytes Data: One Touch access at Rs. 5 per day

It’s just like a pandora’s box of entertainment content. Besides Wallpapers, Ringtones and Tring Tunes , Vbytes offers a lot of free text content to users on topics such as Jokes, Bollywood stuffs, Astro, News and Romance. There is a WAP platform vMagazine contains entertains stuffs packed in a mag-like format.

I am from Assam. It is not available here.

Please check the website once more. Where can you see the circles of Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Northeast in the ‘Get Virgin Mobile here’ section?
Also Gujarat is there for two times, Haryana not in the list, UP(E), UP(W) and Uttar Pradesh. The list is full of mistakes.

DEEPAK the TELECOM TALK site provides Telecom News … there are several operators (LOOP MOBILE, AIRCEL, MTS, DOCOMO etc) which do not have service in all 22 circles… should these operators be ignored? Should TT become only a PAN INDIA website and leave out the news / developments of smaller operators?

I hope not!
