Smartisan might not be a familiar company for Indians, but it's one of the major company in the Chinese market, especially known for its design language on smartphones. Today, the company released its first smartphone of the year, dubbed as the Smartisan Nut 3. The Nut 3 comes as a successor to last year's Smartisan Nut 2, which was one of the good-looking smartphones back then. The Nut 3 comes with a tri-bezel design, same as the Sharp Aquos S3 smartphone with the fingerprint scanner, front-facing camera placed below the display, same as the Xiaomi Mi Mix series. Last year's Nut 2 smartphone sported the fingerprint scanner at the rear, but this year, the company decided to move it to the front. Notably, Smartisan was one of the first companies to integrate the fingerprint scanner under the logo on the rear, and the same is now said to be followed by top-tier brands such as Motorola.

The Smartisan Nut 3, for now, is limited to the Chinese market and the company did not reveal its plans of launching the device in other markets such as India. The device will be available in five colours- Red Wine, Carbon Black, and Light Gold, Black and Red. The Red colour variant was the attraction last year, and the same continues this year too.

Coming to the specifications of the Smartisan Nut 3, it flaunts a 5.99-inch display carrying Full HD+ resolution. The display is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology, and the phone even comes with glass back. Internally, it's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, mated to 4GB of RAM. The device will be available in a plethora of storage options- 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. Its been more than two years since Qualcomm released the Snapdragon 625 SoC and it seems like manufacturers are not yet to looking to get past it.

The Nut 3 rocks dual 13MP cameras to the back, and it offers a portrait mode. The company has even developed an AI-supported noise reduction mechanism which will help in yielding good low-light shots. It offers an 8MP front-facing camera with AI-based beauty mode.

As stated, the fingerprint scanner is present to the front of the phone, and it boots Android-based Smartisan OS 4.x skin on top. However, the Android version was not revealed by the company. The device even supports WeChat and AliPay payment options. Another best part is the phone can record up to ten fingerprints and even offers Face Unlock features.

Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and GPS. It's fuelled by a 4000mAh battery with fast charging support.

Coming to the pricing, the Smartisan Nut 3's base variant with 4GB of RAM and 32GB storage ships at 1299 Yuan (approx. Rs 13,400); the premium 64GB storage model costs 1599 Yuan (approx. Rs 16,500), and the 128GB variant will retail for 1999 Yuan (approx. Rs 20,600). The device will be available starting April 22 in China.
