Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018): Features and Specifications

The highlight of the Galaxy A7 (2018) is the triple rear camera setup, so let's begin with that. To be honest, the Galaxy A7 (2018) doesn't come anywhere close to what Huawei P20 Pro offered us. For the unaware, Huawei P20 Pro was the first triple camera smartphone to launch back in March. The Galaxy A7 (2018) sports a 24MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture. An 8MP wide-angle sensor and a 5MP sensor with f/2.2 accompanies the primary sensor. Frontal, Samsung has added a 24MP selfie shooter and it features pixel binning technology.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) flaunts a 6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display on the front with a resolution of 1080×2220 pixels. The phone measures 7.5mm in thickness and weighs 168 grams. The smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz processor and comes in 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB storage option. Users can also expand storage up to 512GB with a microSD card. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and a USB Type-C port.

The fingerprint scanner is present on the rear side and the device is backed by a 3300mAh battery with adaptive fast charging. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018): Pricing and Availability

Samsung has launched the device in four colour options- Black, Blue, Pink and Gold. The phone is priced at €349 which converts to Rs 29,400. Samsung stated that the device would be available in European markets first and it will be available for purchase in Asian markets including India in October.

Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018): Competitors in India

As mentioned above, the Galaxy A7 (2018) is a mid-range smartphone and it takes on the likes of smartphones such as the Nokia 7 Plus and OnePlus 6. If it reaches the Indian market sometime next month, Samsung will surely price it over Rs 30,000, keeping it beside the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star. Also, with the OnePlus 6T arriving soon, it will be interesting to see how Samsung markets this device.
