AI Hybrid Cooling Technology
The AI Hybrid Cooling system adapts to varying cooling needs, activating both the Peltier module and compressor when necessary, such as when many items are added at once after grocery shopping, when storing hot food or during hot weather. "During the process, the AI algorithm detects the current status of the refrigerator and predicts temperature changes inside the fridge to properly adjust the cooling mode," Samsung said.
This hybrid approach ensures energy efficiency by using power sources only when needed. Samsung's AI Inverter Compressor further boosts energy savings with its redesigned components, running longer and using less energy. Leveraging an AI algorithm, the compressor dynamically optimises its speed, according to the company.

Cooling with Peltier Module
The Peltier module is a semiconductor device that achieves cooling by harnessing the temperature change arising from the flow of electric current. The introduction of the Peltier module enables the refrigerator to function like a hybrid car, by using two power sources together only when needed to efficiently cool the inside of the fridge, Samsung explained.
"Since refrigerators run 24/7, we placed a strong emphasis on developing a cooling system that meaningfully enhances energy efficiency for users," said Jeong Seung Moon, EVP and Head of the R&D Team for Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics. "With the global unveiling of the AI Hybrid Cooling technology, we are showcasing our commitment to technological innovation in home appliances."

Improves Food Preservation
Additionally, the refrigerators offer precise temperature control that reduces internal fluctuations, preserving food quality even during defrost cycles. "Tests show that when the Hybrid Precise Cooling is turned on, fresh foods such as pork and salmon can last by up to 1.4 times and 1.2 times respectively, compared to when it is turned off," Samsung said.
With a 900-liter capacity and optimised space design, Samsung says these fridges provide more storage without increasing size. The new models will be ready to expand into global markets in 2025.
