Samsung Q3 2014 earnings reveals a sharp decline in its smartphone sales

Provided, the stiff competition prevailing in the global smartphone arena, Samsung Electronics has reported its third quarter earnings, representing stark decline in profits, by almost 49 percent compared to the last year. Global profits registered at $3.9 billion, which is in accordance with the guidance Samsung had previously issued. Revenues steeped by almost 20 percent to $45 billion when compared to the third quarter previous year.

Samsung’s profits from its mobile business has hit a 3-year low, though it witnessed a rise in the TV and memory divisions. The company is taking each step with great caution, towards the fourth quarter, due to holidays and shopping season.
