Samsung unveiled their latest flagships Galaxy S9, S9+ at its Unpacked Event ahead of Mobile World Congress 2018. The company also started pre-booking for the smartphones in India soon after the announcement. Now the South Korean giant is said to officially launch the Galaxy S9 in India on March 6. Samsung has reportedly sent media invites for an event on this date in Delhi, where the new Galaxy phones will make an appearance. The company also will announce the prices for Indian market on the same day.
As for the actual release date, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will arrive on March 16 in select markets, but it remains unclear whether this date applies to India as well.
Samsung will be taking pre-orders in certain regions from March 2, while in India, pre-bookings have already started. The Galaxy S9 series has been available for pre-order on Samsung India's official website for a token amount of Rs 2000. The pre-booking guarantees that registered users are among the first to receive the latest smartphone from Samsung.
Also, Airtel announced pre-registration for Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are open via their online store. To pre-register, interested buyers will have to visit the Airtel Online Store or install the My Airtel app.
Pre-registering ensures an invitation to purchase the device before others, Airtel claims. Notably, the pre-registration will be open until March 4. Airtel will then send you an invite to book the Samsung Galaxy S9 on the launch date.
Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+ Price in India
The Samsung Galaxy S9 price starts at $719 (roughly Rs. 46,600) while the high-end Galaxy S9+ will be available at $839.99 (roughly Rs. 54,400) in the United States. Prices in India, however, are expected to be way higher than the U.S.
As for the pricing in India, the Galaxy S9 will start at Rs 57,900 for 64GB model according to Gadgets 360. The Galaxy S9+, on the other hand, will start at Rs 64,900 for the 64GB model. The 256GB versions of the Galaxy S9, S9+ are expected to start from Rs 65,900 and Rs 72,900 respectively.
Of course, nothing has been confirmed by Samsung as of yet, so you’ll have to until March 6 for the actual prices of Galaxy S9 range.
