Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be the next flagship phone from the South Korean smartphone giant. A new report claims that the device will be unveiled on August 23 at a special event in New York. Earlier speculations suggested that the device would be launched sometime September and even some suggested an IFA 2017 unveil.

Besides the launch date, the report also says that the smartphone will be up for sale right after the launch in New York and other countries as well. Speculations are already rife about the features to be included in the Galaxy Note 8.

A report also says that Samsung is looking to release the Note 8 in August itself because of the slowly depleting sales of Galaxy S8 duo and the Apple iPhone 8 release factor is already worrying the South Korean giant. Another Investor report cites that the Apple iPhone 8 launch will be delayed due to various reasons- insufficient supply of OLED displays, where to embed the fingerprint sensor, etc. So, if that happens, the Galaxy Note 8 will rule the smartphone market, at least until the next-gen iPhone arrives.

In recent times, various images of the prototype units of Galaxy Note 8 have leaked online. Interestingly, Samsung has already finalised the design of the smartphone. Furthermore, the Galaxy Note 8 is said to include all the features which Samsung missed out to add in the Galaxy S8+.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is long speculated to pack a 6.3-inch QHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:5:9 display, same as the Galaxy S8 and S8+. And yes, the Note 8 will be a tad higher than the Galaxy S8+, which has a 6.2-inch display. It will be an edge-to-edge screen. One thing which differentiates the Galaxy Note 8 from Galaxy S8 series is the S-Pen support. Samsung will continue to support the Note lineup with the S-Pen.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will likely arrive with the Snapdragon 835 chip itself, rather than the Snapdragon 836 SoC pegged to release later this month. Finally, Samsung claimed to add 6GB of RAM with the base variant as well.

As it was rumoured earlier, the Note 8 will feature dual camera setup at the back. There will be two 12MP sensors, and there will be Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) support for both the sensors. A report revealed that the sensor placement would be a horizontal one, which is followed by a fingerprint scanner and heart rate sensor.

The Galaxy Note 8 will come with a 3000mAh battery, down by 500mAh used in the Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Note 7. Lastly, the device will carry a massive price tag of €999.
