With the new M series, the South Korean smartphone maker is preparing to take on the likes of Xiaomi in India. The Galaxy M30 has been launched for a starting price of Rs 14,990 in India which means it will go against the Redmi Note 7 which is set to launch in India today. Overall, the Galaxy M30 is a much-upgraded version of the Galaxy M20. The new Samsung Galaxy M30 comes packed with super AMOLED display, triple rear cameras, waterdrop notch, among other things.

For the pricing, the Galaxy M30 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model comes for Rs 14,990 while the price of the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage has been launched for Rs 17,990. In comparison, the Galaxy M20 is slightly lower priced. The 3GB RAM/32GB storage model of the Galaxy M20 comes for Rs 10,990 while the 4GB RAM/64GB storage model of the phone comes for Rs 12,990. It's good to see Samsung going with a Super AMOLED display for the Galaxy M30 as it's one of the biggest differentiating factors.

The Galaxy M30, on the other hand, also includes 13MP + 5MP configuration dual camera setup on the back while on the front the new Samsung phone packs a 16MP selfie shooter with Live Focus support.

Software

On the software front, both the Samsung Galaxy M20 and M30 run on Samsung Experience 9.5 UI based on Android 8.1 Oreo. There are no words on whether the two Galaxy M series will get Android 9 Pie update any time soon or not.

Battery

Interestingly both the Samsung Galaxy M20 and M30 are backed by a massive 5000mAh battery. The Galaxy M30 comes with gradient finish which enhances the overall look of the phone compared to the M20.
