Samsung Galaxy A6 Receives its First Price Cut, Now Retailing for Rs 19,990

Samsung Galaxy A6 has now received its first price cut in India. The base variant of the Galaxy A6 with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage will now retail for Rs 19,990, down from the launch price of Rs 21,990. This news was posted by Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom, and the price cut is already effective on Amazon India, while Samsung Shop is still selling the device for the launch price. Furthermore, the offline retailer stated that Samsung would be launching the 64GB variant of the Galaxy A6 at Rs 20,990, not at the launch price of Rs 22,990. Back on May 21, Samsung launched the Galaxy A6 in both 32GB and 64GB variants in India, but the latter did not appear for sale till date.

Even after the price cut, the Samsung Galaxy A6 is an overpriced device because of the hardware it packs. The Galaxy A6+, on the other hand, is still retailing for Rs 25,990 and it’s considered as one of the overpriced products of all time in the Indian smartphone market.

The Samsung Galaxy A6 sports a 5.6-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1480 pixels and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Thankfully, it’s a Super AMOLED panel, and Samsung is marketing the Infinity Display tech heavily. The smartphone is powered by the good-old Exynos 7870 SoC, which is an octa-core chip with all the cores clocked at 1.6GHz. The chipset comes paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage, as mentioned. The 64GB storage variant of the smartphone will be available for purchase at a later date for the new price of Rs 20,990.
