S Tel Conferred With The Prestigious CIO 100 Award 2010

S Tel, the youngest GSM mobile telephony services brand has been conferred this year’s prestigious CIO ‘Innovation Awards 2010’ in the innovation category for their IT Project ‘C FUTURE’ and ‘CIO 100’ for its IT management strategy.

The project has been adjudged as the winner in the said categories, for its demonstrated technology initiative that is agile, robust, scalable, cost effective and fuelled company’s overall business strategy, qualifying it as ‘the best of the best’.

Commenting on the win, Mr. Shamik Das, CEO, S Tel, said, “Being a Greenfield mobile operator and entering as 9th /10th player in a highly competitive market, S Tel positions itself as a ‘simple’ & ‘Transparent’ brand that speaks the language of the local people, ‘Belongs; to them and seeks to ‘uncomplicated’ & ‘demystify’ the lives of mobile users.

Project ‘C FUTURE’ involved an integrated approach to ensure rapid rollout of IT delivery systems, well defined yet scalable user interface systems, convergent product catalogue, innovative DSTK based solutions, and robust technology platforms to support complex and multiple partnerships and collaboration for growth enablement from day one at par with industry standards.

Since its inception, S Tel pioneered the concept of ‘Bulk minutes’ in its markets, introduced few unique offerings such as ‘Aaj Ke Taaza Khabhar’, ‘Talk Today Free Tomorrow’ and ‘Bonus Plus’ plans. Moreover, S Tel holds the distinction of being the youngest telecom operator to have won 3G licenses and is currently gearing up to launch data services in its circles of operations.
