Reliance Retail announces entry-level VoLTE smartphones, LYF Wind 6 and LYF Flame 1

With the widespread launch of Reliance Jio's 4G services around the corner, Reliance retail has announced two more 4G-enabled smartphones under its LYF sub-brand. Moreover, other phones from the brand will now be widely available at 1.2 lakh retail outlets in India. The company has roped in 1,200 distributors all over India to supply these handsets.Tech Specs-Flame1

Initial two handsets that will be widely available are - the LYF Flame 1 and LYF Wind 6, for a price of Rs 6,490 and Rs 7,090 respectively.




Commenting on the launch, the company said,“Reliance Retail has introduced its entry-level range of LYF smartphones, LYF Wind 6 and LYF Flame 1. The two devices represent one of the most affordable and superior entry-level smartphones in the Indian market,”

As of now, these smartphones by Reliance are the most feasible devices that are equipped with 4G voice or VoLTE. Although, Lenovo is reportedly planning to bring its Vibe K5 to India at these prices. Furthermore, Jio is proposing a facility to route calls over WiFi connection, which would save a lot of money for users.

In a statement, Reliance Industries said,“VoLTE and VoWi-Fi features, implying Voice over Long-Term Evolution and Voice over Wi-Fi, will ensure a True 4G experience for the user when used on a VoLTE network. With Wind 6 and Flame 1, everyone can experience HD-quality voice and video calls, multi-party voice and video conferencing, Wi-Fi calling, high-speed Internet, and seamless switching of a call from the service provider’s network to any available Wi-Fi network,”

Talking about the specifications offered by LYF Wind 6 and LYF Flame 1 smartphones, both the devices are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor paired with 1GB of RAM. In the imaging department, both the smartphones sport a 5-megapixel front and rear cameras coupled with special features such as Blink Detection, Smile Detection, and many more.

The LYF Wind 6 comes with a 5-inch IPS display with a gloss finish and compact design. It is available in white, black, and gold colour options. In terms of connectivity, the entire LYF range of smartphones are VoLTE-enabled.
