Just like the other prepaid and DTH industries in India right now, the broadband market has also grown fairly competitive, and all of that has happened in the run-up to the launch of the FTTH service from the Mukesh Ambani led telco, Reliance Jio. The JioFiber service was much hyped before the launch and continues to remain in the headlines for long. However, when the service was actually introduced in the market, it failed to capture the attention of the public in a way that was expected. The Reliance JioFiber plans still see a somewhat lukewarm response from the public. But, if we know anything about Reliance Jio, it’s the fact that the telco is not the one amongst to sit quiet and take the beating of the competition and in its new move, Reliance Jio seems to be doing exactly that. The telco has announced the launch of a new JioFiber plan for the subscribers which will also be the cheapest plan in the Reliance Jio roster. The JioFiber plan that we are talking about is the Rs 351 plan from the telecom operator. Here are all the details that you need to know about this new plan.

JioFiber Rs 351 Plan Details and Benefits

The first thing to note about this plan is that it has been made for consumers who do not want a lot of data and speed and would simply like to access the internet from time to time. The consumers can have a fair idea given the current pricing scenario in the market as to what a broadband plan can ship under Rs 400, and it’s definitely not a lot, even though the company is Reliance Jio. Coming to the benefit of this plan, Reliance Jio has noted that this JioFiber plan will ship 50GB data per month to the users and it will come with 10 Mbps speed. The after-FUP speed in this plan would be 1 Mbps. Apart from this, the subscribers will enjoy the free unlimited calling facility as well.

No Installation or Upfront Charges on This Plan

There is another very crucial thing to note about this plan, and that is the fact that Reliance Jio is not going to charge any kind of installation charges or one-time charge from the customers. As opposed to this, the other Reliance JioFiber customers are required to pay Rs 2,500 before the connection, out of which a certain amount is non-refundable. But, that won’t be the case for this new Rs 351 FTTH plan by Reliance Jio. With taxes, the plan will cost the subscribers Rs 414 after GST. As for other special benefits in this plan, the subscribers will get complimentary TV video calling. Also, the subscribers will be able to opt for 3 months, 6 months, or a semi-annual subscription option for this plan, but there is no additional benefit on that.

Significance of the Rs 351 FTTH Plan

It is worth noting that Reliance Jio is the telecom operator which has set its vision towards more and more subscribers in the coming time. Now, its JioFiber FTTH portfolio is aimed at high-end households which would require high-speed internet with more data and better services. Also, the launch of those plans has coincided with the entry of JioFiber in tier I and tier-II cities. But, as JioFiber makes its way into the tier II and tier III cities more thoroughly, the introduction of such a plan makes total sense as it will see Interest from users with a slight rural influence.
