Reliance Jio to Stream Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 Exclusively on JioTV Application

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio today announced that its Live TV streaming application, JioTV, has been awarded India digital rights of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). JioTV will work with IOC to provide comprehensive coverage of the Games in India, thus enabling millions to access live and catch-up content on their mobile devices, on the move.


The Olympic Winter Games are scheduled from February 9 to February 25, 2018, at PyeongChang County, South Korea. Featuring 102 events in 15 sports including Skiing, Skating, Luge, Ski Jumping, Ice Hockey, Snow Boarding, etc., the Games will see participation from more than 90 countries, including India.

JioTV will be creating several exclusive channels on its platform to stream 24×7 live action and content of the Games and will also provide a seven-day catch-up feature for consumers to watch the action again. The catch-up TV has been one of Reliance JioTV’s best feature of all time.

The events coverage will include live broadcast, highlight packages and repeat programming, thus enabling fans to enjoy the Games comprehensively stated Reliance Jio in the media release.

Reliance Jio also stated that in addition to working with JioTV, the IOC’s multimedia channel, the Olympic Channel would also stream live coverage of the Games in India.

Isn’t there any trick like VPN or something using which we can use Jio TV on WiFi? This is frustrating.

I always use my BSNL WiFi to access jiotv on Jio SIM.

Yes you can use jio TV with wifi network,
I use it with wifi provided that you should insert jio sim in your mobile. As soon as I remove jio sim from mobile jio TV doesn’t work using wifi. For that purpose airtel tv works using wifi after onetime registration completed with airtel number.

problem here is users could turn jiotv into STB and run on thier ultra cheap WiFi. So jiotv stb launch will be doomed of no use. I don’t even know that Jio TV don’t work on WiFi….lol. i thought it’s vice versa….. always thinking how/why they offering unlimited TV with all TV channels and no conditions applied….:)
