Realme is one budget smartphone brand in India which might become Achilles heel for other budget segment brands like Xiaomi. The reason is the extremely competitive and affordable pricing that Realme offers to its buyers. Recently the brand announced the launch of its Realme 3i and the Realme X which tout of some impressive features and not so budget-like price tag. However, there are also two other phones in the making by Realme which have been doing rounds of the internet and these are the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro. Now some news of substance has come to our knowledge about the launch of these two devices. As per a new teaser by Realme uploaded on Flipkart, the company is set to launch these devices on August 20 at 12:30 PM.

Realme 5 Pro and Realme 5 Known Specifications and Teasers

The other details concerning the launch and specifications of Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro remain hidden. However, it is known that the devices will replace the already existing Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro. The naming scheme of these devices has been derived from the nomenclature that the company has set for its devices. You would normally expect the company to give away some information about the new devices as well, but Realme has not acquitted any hardware information about this new device. The single piece of useful information that we have come to know about the Realme 5 services is that one of the devices will come with a quad-camera setup on the rear side which would include a primary sensor, a secondary depth sensor, an ultra-wide sensor and another ultra wide-angle sensor as well.

The notable thing is that this would be the first launch from Realme which would come with a quad-camera setup. The Oppo sub-brand has also claimed that the primary sensor on this device would come with excellent low light capabilities. The ultra-wide sensor on the Realme 5 series would boast of a 119-degree field of view. As for the megapixel count or other details on the sensor of the camera, Realme has not let out a word about it. The front-facing camera of the Realme 5 series also remains shrouded in mystery.

Realme Also Planning a 64MP Camera Phone

With all this being said, it is understood that the Realme 5 would be the cheaper version of the Realme 5 Pro and with that, it will also cut down on some of the features of the phone as well. We expect like every time, Realme is going to price its latest series very competitively and the price tag should hover around the Rs 10,000 or Rs 15,000 price range. However, this is just an estimation, and we would tell you to wait for an official price launch. It is also interesting to note that Realme is also planning to launch a smartphone with a 64MP sensor before Diwali. However, Xiaomi would the first brand to launch a smartphone with this sensor.
