Xiaomi launched its sub-brand Poco just a few months ago and the company has already managed to earn a lot of attention in the Indian market. The first phone from Poco is the Poco F1, which has already set a benchmark by being the first Snapdragon 845 chipset phone under Rs 25,000. In fact, the Poco F1 was selling for under Rs 20,000 during the Diwali sale on Flipkart, Amazon and Mi.com. In addition to the powerful hardware, another area where the Poco F1 does a great job is with the Poco Launcher.

Consumers have loved the Poco Launcher so much that it has achieved a big milestone of being downloaded by over 1 million users in just a few months. The Poco India General Manager, C Manmohan took to Twitter on Tuesday and announced about the achievement. In the Twitter post, he noted, “Achievement Unlocked! We crossed 1 Million downloads of POCO Launcher on @GooglePlay. If you are one of the million, share a screenshot of POCO Launcher and stand a chance to win exclusive @IndiaPOCO merchandise. #POCOF1 #MasterOfSpeed.”

Poco Launcher Features

The Poco Launcher is available on Google Play Store for download for free. The key features that the launcher brings to the users’ phone include – clean home screen, customised home screen layout, improved manage apps section, privacy protection, and also makes the phone fast and smooth, among other things. In the app bio on the Play Store, it’s mentioned, “POCO Launcher is a full-featured customisable launcher for Android phones. It’s beautifully designed, super fast and secure. And super lightweight as well!”

That said, Poco Launcher is the same MIUI launcher with some additions such as app drawer, customisable app icons and more features added to the table.

Roadmap for Poco

The sub-brand of Xiaomi has recently announced the availability of Xiaomi’s latest MIUI 10 for all the Poco F1 users in India. The MIUI 10 brings a host of new features to the Poco F1 along with the updated Android security patch which brings along bug fixes and improvements to the phone. Additionally, one of company’s key executive has recently confirmed that the Poco F1 will be upgraded to Google’s latest Android version aka Android 9 Pie very soon, rumours suggest it could happen by the end of this year. The company has also confirmed that the Poco F1 will be upgraded to the next Android version, which could possibly be the Android Q.
