Paytm Users Can Now Watch Live TV and Play Games On-the-Go for Free

Paytm has added a host of new features- Live TV, News, Entertainment & Games and Cricket to 'Inbox.' For the unaware, Paytm Inbox is the company's messaging service that allows users to chat with friends, family and send/request money at the same. Paytm introduced this feature to take on WhatsApp and its upcoming payments service. But the Paytm Inbox service is picking up various new features and is heading in a new direction altogether. The Live TV service comes as a surprise addition, and it's already known that Paytm is testing games feature on the Inbox platform for quite some time now.

Speaking more about the features, the Live TV service integration could be to increase the app usage duration, and the channels include Aaj Tak, India Today, 9XM, ET Now and others. Paytm has only revealed top Live TV picks on its blog and the complete number of Live TV channel is yet to be revealed. Also, the company did not reveal with which portal it has partnered with to provide this service.

Moving onto the News category, users will be able to browse daily news on the go. Also, Paytm will allow users to categorise the News they want to read. Moving onto the entertainment part, Paytm will list the content from third-party services such as Hungama and the entire video catalogue can be viewed on the go. Paytm states that it has partnered with 'several content providers to ensure the best of infotainment is delivered to you.'

Lastly, we have the Games section, which Paytm has been under beta testing for a while now. The digital payments company stated it received a 'favourable response' during the beta phase and has now confirmed the rollout to every Paytm user. Paytm users will be able to choose games from different genres such as Action, Adventure, Sports, Strategy and more. At the moment, Paytm users on the Beta programme can see the Games section in Inbox, where several games such as Petrol Quiz, Smash Cricket, Pass The Bomb and so on are listed.

Paytm confirmed that these features would be available for iOS users this weekend, while Android users will receive the same next week. Do make a note that all the services will be available for free to the users, as confirmed by Paytm.
