Some of the most popular smartphones out there in the market definitely include OnePlus devices. The top devices from OnePlus include the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro. But, even the penultimate ones, which include the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro are not behind when it comes to offering some impressive specifications. Now, these two devices, the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro have both started receiving a new update which brings the OxygenOS Open Beta 6 to the users. As you can make out from the name of these updates, the OxygenOS Open Beta 6, is, first of all, a ‘Beta’ build which means that it would be not be as stable as the official builds of the OxygenOS. However, with that being said, the OxygenOS Open Beta 6 does come with a handful of new features, improvements and performance fixes. This also includes the feature to turn off the zen mode, when required. Something that the previous versions did not allow the users to do.
OxygenOS Open Beta 6 Update
OnePlus has announced about the rollout of this new update on the official OnePlus community forum. Over there, OnePlus has noted that the OxygenOS Open Beta 6 has started rolling out for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro users. The update is being rolled out to the users via over-the-air (OTA) method for the users who are already on the Beta programme. But, there is also the option to sideload the ROM for the advanced user who might want to go for that option. OnePlus has also given the links to the ROM to sideload the Open Beta 6 version on the OnePlus forum only. As for the changes that come in the new Open Beta 6, OnePlus has introduced improvements to the fingerprint icon and the ambient display. As per the information provided by OnePlus, now there is also a notch area display option in the settings menu for the OnePlus 7.
Improvements in New Beta Update
Apart from these improvements which OnePlus has noted, there are some general bug fixes, and improvements and the biggest change which OnePlus brings for its users is in the form of the option of turning the Zen Mode off. So, previously, the users on OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro did not have this option. Notably, the Zen mode on the OnePlus devices lets the users tune out of the noise of their smartphone and helps them to disconnect from the world for some peace. The users can set a timer for the Zen Mode. Previously, in this mode, there was no way to end the Zen Mode, and the users could only resume working on their phone when the timer ended, but now the Zen Mode can be stopped midway.
