Oppo’s Latest A57 is Aimed to Take on Selfie Enthusiasts with its 16MP Front-Facing Camera

Oppo, the Chinese smartphone vendor, has been focusing on selfie-centric smartphones for quite some time. As yet another addition to the lineup – Oppo has launched the Oppo A57 smartphone. The main feature of the Oppo A57 that is highly touted by the company is its 16MP front-facing camera. To recap, the Oppo A57 was first unveiled in China, back in November 2016.

Priced at Rs. 14,990, the Oppo A57 will be available via both offline and online channels starting February 3. Regarding specifications,  the Oppo A57 features a 5.2-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels, a 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset clubbed with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage oboard, expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

Optics-wise, the Oppo A57 comes with a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash. Oppo has also added Bokeh mode, a new camera feature that is gaining popularity and is also seen on recently launched phones such as Honor 8 and Honor 6X. Surprisingly, the 16MP front camera on Oppo is not coupled with a front flash. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS chip, and a micro USB port. The phone also has a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button. The phone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based ColorOS 3.0, and to complete the package, a 2900mAh battery backs the device.

Apart from Oppo, Intex also launched a new smartphone dubbed as Intex Aqua Amaze+. The phone is priced at Rs. 6290 and comes with entry-level specifications. It features a 4.7-inch HD IPS panel, quad-core Spreadtrum SC9832A chipset, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage with support for storage expansion via microSD card slot.

As far as the camera is concerned, the phone has 5MP rear camera with support for single tone LED flash. There is a 5MP front-facing camera onboard with LED flash. The Intex Aqua Amaze+ supports 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is backed by a 2000mAh battery. The Intex Aqua Amaze+ will be up for sale via all the online and offline channels across the country.
