Oppo Reno 3 Will Come With MediaTek Dimensity 1000L 5G SoC

Oppo Reno 3 along with the Reno 3 Pro will go official on December 26 in China. The Oppo Reno 3 series has been all over the internet for nearly three weeks now, and slowly, full details of the smartphones are coming out. After confirming that the Oppo Reno 3 Pro will ship with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset, Oppo has now confirmed that the standard Reno 3 will have the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L 5G SoC. Notably, MediaTek did not announce the Dimensity 1000L 5G chipset, so the details of the same are unavailable at the moment. It’s actually a good thing to see Oppo going for a cheaper 5G chipset from MediaTek for the Oppo Reno 3 and it will also allow the brand to keep the pricing competitive.

Oppo Reno 3 Could Be the Cheapest 5G Phone

Xiaomi surprised everyone earlier this week by pricing the Redmi K30 5G at 1999 Yuan (approx. Rs 20,500) in China. The Redmi K30 is currently the cheapest 5G phone in China and around the world. However, it could soon be beaten by the Oppo Reno 3 as the phone will have the unannounced MediaTek Dimensity 1000L 5G chipset. This news is confirmed officially by Oppo on the teaser page of the Oppo Reno 3 series. It seems like the MediaTek MT6885 chipset is the same Dimensity 1000L 5G chipset which the chipmaker will announce in the coming weeks or ahead of the official launch of Oppo Reno 3 on December 26.
