Oppo’s fans have been waiting for the company to come out with the Android 12 based ColorOS 12 since the time Oppo announced that it would be releasing it in late September. However, earlier, Oppo hadn’t given a fixed/firm date for the launch of the new ColorOS 12. But according to a leak from Digital Chat Station (DCS), the company will launch the ColorOS 12 on September 16, 2021. As per the leakster, Oppo will launch the ColorOS 12 in a new event scheduled for the said date in China that will start at 6 PM local time.
Oppo ColorOS 12 Expected Features
The Android 12 is said to be the biggest Android update and change that users have seen in the last few years. Going by that, it is expected that the ColorOS 12 from Oppo will also look very different from the ColorOS 11.
The ColorOS 12 is expected to come with the ‘Cross-Screen Interconnection’ feature that is quite similar to the Huawei Multi-Screen Collaboration. Further, according to a Gizmochina report, Oppo is expected to take a lot of features from its competitors’ Android skins, including Xiaomi’s MIUI, OnePlus’s HydrogenOS, and more.
It is worth noting that even the OnePlus phones in China will also run on ColorOS 12 instead of the HydrogenOS. But the global variants of smartphones will continue to run on OxygenOS, which should be a big relief for many.
If the leakster is right, then there aren’t many days left before the official Android 12 software update will start rolling out for the Oppo users in China. This will help Oppo fans around the world take a good look at what they can expect from an Oppo smartphone running on Android 12.
More companies, including Samsung, is expected to come out with the Android 12 update (One UI 4.0) very soon. There’s no word on when OnePlus or Vivo will come out with the Android 12 update.
