The OnePlus 6 is launching globally on May 16, followed by the Indian launch on May 17. Alongside the standard variant launch, OnePlus has now confirmed that it will be launching a OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition variant. The Chinese company has revealed a teaser video, giving users the first-ever glimpses of the special edition smartphone. OnePlus has already announced its collaboration with Marvel Studios and is giving away 6000 free tickets to the Avengers: Infinity War movie in collaboration with Paytm. This new special edition smartphone from OnePlus comes after the overwhelming success of OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition.
Last year, for the OnePlus 5T, the company partnered with Disney, and now, for the OnePlus 6, they are partnering with Marvel Studios. The teaser video revealed by OnePlus carriers brief glimpses of the OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition hinting at a 19:9 display and a unique textured back. The upcoming special edition device will be reminiscent of the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition and confirmed to feature design elements inspired from the movie.
"OnePlus’ association with Marvel Studios bespeaks of its focus on technology, its dedication to its community and to providing superior experiences for its consumers," read a OnePlus media statement.
As stated, OnePlus, earlier this week announced that it would be giving its community in India an opportunity to watch Avengers: Infinity War by giving out over 6000 complimentary movie tickets for April 27, April 28 and April 29 in select theatres across ten cities in India.
The tickets sales will go live at 10:00 AM today on oneplus.in. The OnePlus community members in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Kochi, Pune and Ahmedabad. OnePlus community members refer to a person with a OnePlus device because the company will be offering a free ticket once after the user registering his existing OnePlus smartphone with his OnePlus account.
The pricing of this Limited Edition model will be slightly more than the standard model, and it's expected to come with high-end specifications carrying up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. The first sale of the OnePlus 6 in India is scheduled for May 21, and it's unknown whether the limited edition will be available during the first sale or not.
