OnePlus has just shared details about how cool the Nord 4 5G is going to be. No, we are not talking about the culturally cool factor, we are talking about the literal temperature of the device. The OnePlus Nord 4 5G is going to launch on July 16, 2024. OnePlus shared that the Nord 4 can stay cool under high-temperatures, in fact, way cooler than the Samsung Galaxy A55.
OnePlus India said, "Our team ran huge amounts of research focusing on how our users use their phones, like horizontal during gaming sessions and vertical when you're taking epic selfies and making calls. This led to us building an all new internal structure and using innovative heat dissipation materials to essentially build a thermal conduction barrier between OnePlus Nord 4's innards and your hand."

OnePlus Nord 4 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 SoC. The Chinese smartphone maker said that this device will feature one of its best ever cooling systems.
"Our team ran huge amounts of research focusing on how our users use their phones, like horizontal during gaming sessions and vertical when you're taking epic selfies and making calls. This led to us building an all new internal structure and using innovative heat dissipation materials to essentially build a thermal conduction barrier between OnePlus Nord 4's innards and your hand," OnePlus said.
OnePlus has even optimised temperature control for scenarios such as gaming, video playback, calling, and video recording. There are 13 temperature sensors on the device which can regulate the phone's temperature.

OnePlus Nord 4 Heat Comparision with Galaxy A55
OnePlus, in a release, said, "In tests done by one of our community in India at 45 degrees Celsius, with GPS navigation on and 10 applications running in the background, OnePlus Nord 4's average temperature on the back was shown to be 7 degrees Celsius lower than the Samsung A55."
As for the back of the device, the thermal conductivity coefficient of glass is 1.02W/mK and for aluminium alloy used in OnePlus Nord 4 it's 200W/mK - more than 100 times better. At room temperature, metal feels cooler compared to glass and can also dissipate heat more effectively than glass, really crucial for heavy users.
