OnePlus somehow (err not entirely) managed to meet its year-end deadline for rolling out official Android Nougat 7.0 based OxygenOS 4.0 to OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. Last year, the company promised to roll out stable Nougat update for the smartphones.

OnePlus 3

The company's co-founder, Carl Pei took to Twitter and OnePlus Forum for announcing the official rollout of the update on December 31. It is an incremental update, which means OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users will be getting in a phase-wise manner. We expect the update to hit most of the devices in the coming weeks. The Oxygen 4.0 is based on Android 7.0 Nougat not Android 7.1 Nougat.

Here's the ChangeLog:

Upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat
New Notifications Design
New Settings Menu Design
Multi-Window View
Notification Direct Reply
Custom DPI Support
Added Status Bar Icon Options
Improved Shelf Customization

With this update, the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T will be running the same software. For the ones who don't want to wait for the OxygenOS 4.0 OTA update, you can manually download the Open Beta 1 update from here and then sideload it to your phone.
