If you are a OnePlus fan, you might be waiting for the company to come out with the OnePlus 9T. But this year, instead of coming out with the 'T' version of its flagship series OnePlus 9, the company will come out with the 'T' version of the OnePlus 9R. Market expectation is that it will be called OnePlus 9 RT. Now, the launch date of the OnePlus 9 RT has been leaked. According to a reliable leakster, Steve Hemmerstoffer, the smartphone’s tentative launch date is October 15, 2021. This means that there isn’t a lot of time left before it arrives.
The reason why OnePlus might be avoiding a OnePlus 9T is to keep the sales of the OnePlus 9 devices smooth. This is because if the OnePlus 9T had come, people would have thought of purchasing the OnePlus 9T instead of the OnePlus 9, which would have been a loss for the company. Let’s take a look at the expected details of the OnePlus 9 RT.
OnePlus 9 RT Might Still Run On Snapdragon 870
It is unlikely that the OnePlus 9 RT will come with any other chipset than Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. Further, the smartphone might become the first device from OnePlus to come with OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12 out of the box. Also, the smartphone might be exclusive for the markets of India and China only.
There might not be a lot of differences in the display and other specifications between the OnePlus 9R and the OnePlus 9 RT. According to leaks, the device might feature a Sony IMX766 50MP sensor at the rear for photography.
It is expected to come with a 4500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. Then, of course, there will be a host of new things inside the device because of the presence of Android 12.
OnePlus won’t price the device too exorbitantly high. It should still be well under the price of the OnePlus 9 series devices.
