OnePlus 7 Gets New OxygenOS 9.5.5 Update With Camera Improvements and May Security Patch

The OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro are the most popular phones in the market right now. Since the launch of these two devices, the device manufacturer has pushed a handful of updates to improve the camera, upgrade the security and bring new features on the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro. Only a few days back, we saw the OnePlus 7 Pro receive the OxygenOS 9.5.7 update which brought camera improvements and more. But, now the standard variant of the OnePlus 7 has started receiving another update which is the OxygenOS 9.5.5.GM57AA. Here are all the details about the latest OxygenOS update for the OnePlus 7.




OnePlus Latest OxygenOS 9.5.5.GM57AA Update Details

The update comes in a small 125MB package for the OnePlus 7 users, and it updates the security patch on the phone to the Android Security Patch May 2019. In addition to this, there are also general bug fixes and improvements. The changelog of this new OxygenOS update for OnePlus 7 also brings many improvements to the camera. There is an improvement in colour and contrast in the OnePlus 7 camera. Further, there is also improved accuracy and stability of autofocusing. The Nightscape mode, which helps users in shooting in low-light settings, also gets an upgrade with better clarity and colours. Lastly, in the extreme low-light scenes of Nightscape, users will see better brightness and clarity. In case you would like to check for this update manually, then you can go to Settings, navigate to System Updates and then tap on "Check for Updates".

OnePlus 7 OxygenOS 9.5.4.GM57AA Update

It is worth noting that during the date of its first sale also, OnePlus 7 had received a new update of OxygenOS 9.5.4.GM57AA. This update also claimed to bring improvements to the camera, tweaks for smooth scrolling, and an optimised algorithm for in-display fingerprint unlock sensor, apart from "general bug fixes and improvements". This update was also a crucial one because it brought the Fnatic Gaming mode and the DC Dimming feature on the device as well.

The Fnatic Gaming mode is a one of its kind feature on the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro which gives a boost to the resources for dedicated gaming like turning off the secondary SIM card, amping up the graphics and processor whereas the DC Dimming feature uses DC voltage to control the light output of the LED.

OnePlus 7 Specifications

The OnePlus 7 is the penultimate offering from OnePlus this year, and it comes with the Snapdragon 855 SoC on the inside. The OnePlus 7 sports a 6.41-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display on the front and it has a teardrop notch on top. The processor pairs with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. On the camera and imaging front, the OnePlus 7 features a Sony IMX586 48MP sensor in pairing with a 5MP depth shooter. The device packs a 3,700mAh battery and supports 20W fast charging.
