OnePlus 6T Users on Jio Network Can Recharge the Rs 299 Prepaid Plan at Rs 149 for 36 Months

The OnePlus 6T, which is launching later today, will come with various cashback and data related offers from Reliance Jio. The Mukesh Ambani-owned Jio today announced ‘Jio-OnePlus 6T Unlock The Speed Offer,’ under which, the telco will be providing instant cashback of Rs 5,400 for those who make the first recharge of Rs 299 after inserting the Jio 4G SIM card on their brand new OnePlus 6T. According to Reliance Jio, this is the first of its kind offer, but you might be wondering by now, doesn’t Jio offer instant cashback on most of the 4G smartphones? Well, it’s essentially the same offer, but the best part is the cashback value is Rs 150, unlike the Rs 50 vouchers which the telco provides with other smartphones.

Jio-OnePlus 6T Unlock The Speed Offer: Details and Benefits

Diving into the details, Jio will provide an instant cashback worth Rs 5,400 on the first prepaid recharge of Rs 299. Do make a note that this offer is valid for both existing and new customers of Jio. That said, the first recharge after inserting the Jio 4G SIM card on the OnePlus 6T should be of Rs 299, not any other denomination. Those availing the offer will get the cashback in the form of 36 vouchers worth Rs 150 each in the MyJio app.

Customers can redeem these vouchers on subsequent recharges of Rs 299 thereby availing the benefits of the plan at an effective price of Rs 149 only. For the unaware, the Rs 299 prepaid recharge of Jio comes bundled with 3GB daily data, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMSes per day for 28 days. So after the first recharge, the same plan can be availed for Rs 149 every month for the next 36 recharges.

Availability of Jio-OnePlus 6T Unlock The Speed Offer

The Jio Unlock The Speed Offer is available for both existing and new Jio subscribers who purchase the OnePlus 6T. Customers can avail the offer with the first Rs 299 prepaid recharge at www.jio.com, Reliance Digital stores, MyJio Stores, Jio retailers and the MyJio app. The cashback vouchers can be redeemed for subsequent recharges of Rs 299 performed only through the MyJio app. So clearly, the vouchers are not valid on other recharges of Jio, which is underwhelming.

In a recent development, the OnePlus 6T also announced that it would be available at Reliance Digital stores to enhance the offline presence of OnePlus in the country and create additional physical touch points for OnePlus users to engage with the brand.

OnePlus 6T: What to Expect?

The OnePlus 6T is launching in India later today in New York City. It’s the first phone from the company to not feature a 3.5mm headphone jack and also the first phone to have the in-display fingerprint scanner. The OnePlus 6T price in India will be revealed tomorrow at the company’s scheduled event in New Delhi. The phone will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, up to 8GB of RAM, upgraded dual rear cameras, 20MP front-facing camera and it will run Android 9 Pie-based OxygenOS out of the box.

Is Jio implying that it’s Rs.299 plan will remain the same for 3 years from now? Probably the denomination will remain constant and the bundled data offering may change after a year or so.

This offer will give the plan benefits of 3GB to the user for 36 months. Jio may have other offerings at the same price three years later but this offer is legally bound. The price of the subsidy may be built into the selling price of the phone. Jio will not be so foolish to provide 50% discount for three years.

Jio declared in the analyst meet after results that there is no scope of price increase . They want to sell affordable data for 5g sucess.

When the spokesperson says no scope of increase in tariff currently, it implies that there won’t be an immediate increase in tariff for the next 4 quarters not 12 quarters. Which is why I said they may keep tariff denomination of 299 constant for 3 years and may revise the bundled data offered after a year or so.

They want to end competition and rule the industry alone. I doubt Airtel and Vodafone-Idea will survive these type of tariffs for so long.

That’s what I was trying to say in another post. With 1699 he is going to crush the competition. And Airtel started charging monthly to keep number active adding woes to the sector. Not going good in my honest opinion. Airtel is not in mood to deploy band 40 yet. What Airtel going to do over next two years only god knows. They have least amount of spectrum liberised and they are acting foolishly so long. Only god can save them from this difficult situation. I hope they get substantial spectrum from upcoming auction.

Clever move ..for one plus users 1gb per day is nothing.they need 3gb per day. So the bargain is by top up..mininum 100 (6gb) rs recharge is required per week..so instead of 299.they will recharge 149+400 …
