OnePlus has made a habit of launching new colour options of its smartphones in quick succession and it continues with the Red Edition of the OnePlus 6. Today, OnePlus introduced the OnePlus 6 Red Edition which, as the name itself suggests features a Red coloured back. The new Red Edition features an amber-like effect created through expert craftsmanship and material design, as stated by OnePlus. It has been introduced in a single variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, priced at Rs 39,999. The new colour option will be up for sale in India starting July 16, 2018.

“We believe power and attitude can be both elegant and humble, and we have strived to achieve this with the OnePlus 6 Red Edition. We worked to avoid an overly bright red colour while still capturing a sense of self-confidence and positivity. Achieving the amber-like effect took several months to refine and perfect,” said Pete Lau, CEO and Founder, OnePlus while launching the OnePlus 6 Red edition.

The OnePlus 6 is already available in three colour options of Midnight Black, Mirror Black and Silk White. And now, the Red Edition joins the list. Having said that, OnePlus did not reveal whether the new Red Edition is a limited edition variant or a standard variant. In the past, OnePlus launched the Lava Red colour edition of the OnePlus 5T as one of the limited edition variants earlier this year.

OnePlus noted that the OnePlus 6 Red Edition delivers a vivid sensory experience that will last for years and endure with the ages. Explaining more about the product, the company stated it utilised a never-done-before technique of optical coating, evaporative film, and six panels of glass. OnePlus has added an anti-reflective layer to allow more light to reach the bottom layers of glass before being reflected off the device which creates a sense of depth. The added transparent orange layer intermixes with the red base layer to achieve a radiant glossy red.

Furthermore, the mirror-like fingerprint sensor elegantly contrasts with the silver camera lens accent. This new colour option from OnePlus gives an additional choice to the users who're looking to pick up the OnePlus 6. To recall, within 22 days of launch, a whopping one million units of OnePlus 6 were sold across the globe, making it the fastest selling device in the company's history. The OnePlus 6 with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at Rs 34,999 in India.
