OnePlus has released a new OxygenOS Open Beta update to both of its 2017 smartphones- the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T. The former is getting OxygenOS Open Beta 13, while the latter is being upgraded to OxygenOS Open Beta 11. This new Open Beta update brings in a lot of new features to the smartphones, including the much-awaited Project Treble support. Yes, OnePlus has now rolled out Project Treble support for the OnePlus 5 and 5T officially. Even though it’s a Beta update, OnePlus, after testing will roll out the feature to both the smartphones in the stable OxygenOS version very soon. Besides Project Treble compatibility, OnePlus also added accent colour customisation (which was earlier found on Android P Beta 2 for OnePlus 6); The user interface has been tweaked entirely and it made some improvements to the OnePlus Launcher app as well.

One of the highly requested features from OnePlus 5 and 5T users are official Project Treble support and custom accent colour customisation. Both the features have been added by the company with the latest Open Beta update. OnePlus states that it worked several months on both the devices to make them Project Treble compatible. “After several months of evaluation and hard work, we finally found a solution to make this possible,” said OnePlus in its forum post regarding the Project Treble support addition.
For the new custom accent colour customisation, users on the new Open Beta can head over to Settings>Display>Customisation and choose the colour you like with the new colour wheel. The changelog for the update also says “A brand new user interface.” We’re not sure what OnePlus is referring to, but it’s expected that the company must have made tweaks to the notification panel and Settings app.
