Rumor mills have been churning a lot of information about the OnePlus 3 lately. Now, as per the latest info published by GizmoChina, the device could be nearing its launch. The tentative launch date has been tipped to be April 7 as OnePlus is holding an event in Beijing on the day. This news is in contrast to earlier reports that claimed that the device will debut sometime in June.
Also, a OnePlus smartphone with the model number A3000 has been spotted on AnTuTu Benchmark website (as you can see in the image above). The upcoming flagship is expected to come with a 5.5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. It might come powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, clubbed with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 530 GPU. It could feature 32GB internal storage, 16-megapixel of primary camera, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It might run Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Oxygen OS.
Going by the leaked images of the forthcoming device, its specs looks pretty different from its predecessor, the OnePlus 2. The device is also expected to feature dual-LED flash on the rear, shutter button, an alert slider on the side, and a USB Type-C port. Interestingly, OnePlus's co-founder, Pete Lau recently announced plans to unveil the OnePlus 3 in the second quarter of the year. Following the statement by Pete Lau, we also think that it is pretty unlikely of OnePlus to announce the device before the set timeline. All the assumptions would find a fix on April 7. Stay tuned with us to know more about the developments in the story.
UPDATE: OnePlus rubbishes the launch rumors for the OnePlus 3. The company said in a statement,"the April 7 event is focused on the China market. We will not be launching our next device then,"
"The only thing we can confirm is that [it] will be an awesome product," it added further.
