The OnePlus 2 has been rumoured to come with a fingerprint scanner for a while and OnePlus has just confirmed the rumour. The OnePlus 2 will come with one of the most advanced fingerprint sensors till date when it gets announced on July 27.

OnePlus 2 fingerprint sensor

OnePlus has made this announcement through its forums. The company is saying that its fingerprint sensor is lightning quick and is even faster than Apple’s TouchID. Apple was the company that first made the fingerprint sensors go mainstream and the TouchID has been constantly evolving since then.

The company is further stating that it could have put the fingerprint sensor even on the OnePlus One but it wanted to make the fingerprint sensor actually useful instead of just putting it as an additional feature. It will be faster than typing in your password into the device.

A quick tap on the OnePlus 2’s fingerprint sensor will take you right to its home screen and you’ll have the functionality of having up to five fingerprint profiles saved on your device. With rising security concerns in the smartphones, the fingerprint sensors will become a regular feature in the future and OnePlus wants to ensure that its flagship smartphone has all the features a flagship device deserves.

Expect more features to be revealed in the next few days.
