After launching smartphones for normal consumers, manufacturers are now shifting their focus towards the gaming-centric devices. Last week, Xiaomi launched its gaming smartphone under its Black Shark company, and today, Nubia has announced its gaming smartphone, dubbed as Nubia Red Magic. However, the Red Magic smartphone comes powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC, which is last year's flagship SoC and not this year's. Rest of the specifications of the Nubia gaming smartphone are in-line with Xiaomi Black Shark gaming smartphone, but the design of Nubia' smartphone seems way better than the latter's.
Being a gaming smartphone, Nubia has added an RGB LED light strip at the back, which was absent on the Razer phone. The Red Magic smartphone is completely constructed out of aluminium and Nubia says that it kept gamers in mind while designing it because usually, gamers keep on playing for extended sessions, which will be a treat for gamers with the Red Magic smartphone. Also, the smartphone is claimed to come with advanced thermal modelling techniques, and it also comes with an all-new air convection cooling system. The Xiaomi Black Shark gaming device also comes with a cooling system, but in Nubia's device, it is designed in a way that the heat is dissipated completely across its diamond-cut design, which in turn will not affect the performance while gameplay.
Speaking about the specifications, the device comes with a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with the trendy 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass on top. As stated, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, which works in tandem with 8GB of RAM and 128GB dual-channel UFS 2.1 storage.
Optics wise, there's a 24MP Samsung 5K2X7SX sensor at the back with support for 120fps slow-motion video recording. The rear camera sensor also has a f/1.7 aperture, 0.9?m pixel size and is capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps. An 8MP selfie camera adorns the front with f/2.0 aperture.
The device also comes with a dedicated GameBoost mode which frees up the entire memory when activated so that users will not experience any lags while starting the games. There's support for 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 801.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and GLONASS.
One area where the Nubia Red Magic Gaming smartphone outperforms in the exception sound technology it packs. There's DTS
Technology and Smart Amplifier system to offer impressive sound for the users.
Lastly, the device runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and is backed by a 3800mAh battery. The smartphone will be available exclusively via Indiegogo for just $399 from April 23.
