It is excessively difficult to find a smartphone in this price range which would pack everything in a measly price tag. There are options like the Realme X, Realme 5 Pro and the Redmi Note 7 Pro. However, there is a new price cut on the Nokia 8.1, which according to us has made a huge difference right now in the mid-range price segment. Recollecting Nokia 8.1 Specifications and Features

To recall, the Nokia 8.1 was first launched back at the end of 2018, and during that time the phone got rave reviews for its design and performance. If you are having trouble recalling the specifications of this device, worry not because we got to tell you that the Nokia 8.1 sports a 6.18-inch Full HD+ high-quality display which also supports HDR 10. Under the hood, the device runs on the Snapdragon 710 SoC which pairs with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The next best thing about the Nokia 8.1 is the camera setup on this device which comprises of dual lenses which are 12MP and 13MP respectively. It is also worth noting that being an HMD Global device, the dual rear camera setup actually comes with Carl Zeiss lenses. On the front, the Nokia 8.1 features a 20MP shooter. Lastly, there is a 3,500mAh battery keeping the lights on with this device.

Nokia 8.1 Worthiness After the Price Cut

Now that we have established the credibility of the Nokia 8.1 in the mid-range, it is also notable that the phone when it was launched received some sceptical looks because of its price tag which was Rs 26,990 at the time of the launch. During that time, the price tag put the phone in competition with the likes of Poco F1 and the Asus Zenfone 5Z which came with the flagship processors, outcompeting the Nokia 8.1. A few months later, Xiaomi and Realme made new debuts with their phones which also gave some solid competition to the Nokia 8.1. To recall, the Nokia 8.1 was launched back in December 2018 and it was one of the first phone to ship with Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC.

A few weeks back, the Nokia 8.1 had received its first price cut which brought down the price to Rs 19,999, but even then, the offering did not appear attractive enough for a lot of buyers. However, this recent price is all that HMD Global might have needed as its final nail in the coffin. With a price tag of Rs 15,999, the Nokia 8.1 finally becomes an offering that could dominate this price segment. The phone also has features like OIS, EIS, fast charging, 3.5mm headphone jack, Nokia’s fast Android updates and more to its credit.
