HMD Global has launched five smartphones at its Mobile World Congress 2019 event today. The star of the show was the long-time rumoured Nokia 9 PureView that comes with five rear cameras. Alongside the Nokia 9 PureView, HMD Global also launched the successor to the Nokia 1, Nokia 2, Nokia 3 and more. The company has launched the Nokia 201 feature phone, Nokia 1 Plus Android Go smartphone, Nokia 3.2, Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 9 PureView Android One smartphones at today’s MWC event. Nokia’s smartphone user base has tripled in 2018, HMD Global CEO says. Nokia is right now the number 1 global player as far as value and volume in the feature phone segment are concerned. In 2019, HMD Global plans to double its growth. Let’s take a quick look at what each of these Nokia phones offers to the consumers.
Nokia 201: Specs, Price and Availability
The Nokia 201 is a feature phone and it comes packed with 2.4-inch QVGA display. It includes a traditional alpha-numeric keypad as well. The phone includes 1020mAh battery, FM support, Classic Snakes game, among others. The Nokia 201 comes in three colours – red, black, and white. The Nokia 201will be available at a starting price of USD 35 (approx Rs 2,500). The phone will be available starting next week.
Nokia 1 Plus: Specs, Price and Availability
The Nokia 1 Plus comes with a 5.45-inch FWVGA+ IPS display and offers an aspect ratio of 18:9. On the hardware front, the Nokia 1 Plus is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core MT6739WW chipset paired with 1GB of RAM. The Nokia 1 Plus comes in two storage options -- 8GB and 16GB inbuilt storage. The Nokia includes an 8MP rear camera paired with flash and 5MP front-facing camera. The phone is backed by a 2500mAh battery. The Nokia 1 Plus will be available in three colours -- Red, Blue and Black. The phone runs Android Pie (Go Edition) software and comes pre-loaded with Google’s suite of Go apps like Google Go, Gmail Go, YouTube Go, Maps Go, among others. The Nokia 1 Plus will be available at a starting price of USD 99. The phone will be available starting March.
Nokia 4.2: Specs, Price and Availability
The new Nokia 4.2 comes packed with a 5.7-inch HD+ panel on the front and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset. As for the design, the Nokia 4.2 comes with a waterdrop notched display on the front with pretty slim bezels. The phone includes dual cameras on the rear panel and single on the front. The selfie shooter will sit on the waterdrop notch. The Nokia 4.2 comes with notification light around the power button and a dedicated Google Assistant button. The Nokia 4.2 will be available for 169 USD starting April. The phone will be available in two colours black and pink.
Nokia 3.2: Specs, Price and Availability
The all new Nokia 3.2 comes packed with a waterdrop notch display as well like the Nokia 4.2. The Nokia 3.2 comes with 6.26-inch HD+ screen on the front and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC. HMD Global claims that the all-new Nokia 3.2 can offer two-day battery life on a single charge. The Nokia 3.2 comes with notification light around the power button and a dedicated Google Assistant button. The Nokia 3.2 will be available in two colours black and steel. The phone will sell for 139 USD and will be available starting April.
Nokia 9 PureView: Specs, Price and Availability
HMD Global has finally launched the most anticipated Nokia 9 PureView with five rear cameras on the back panel. The Nokia 9 comes packed with a 5.99-inch Quad HD+ pOLED display paired with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The phone includes Snapdragon 845, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, dual SIM support, Type C port and many more. The Nokia 9 PureView also support wireless charging, but HMD hasn’t talked about it in details. As for the cameras, the Nokia 9 PureView comes with two 12MP RGB sensors and three 12MP monochrome lenses with autofocus and f/1.8 aperture. On the front, the Nokia 9 PureView includes a 20MP selfie shooter. The Nokia 9 PureView will be available for 699 USD and will be shipping March onwards.
